Custom Countertop Fabrication

From start to finish, building you the perfect fit, quality, style, and size countertop is what we do.

We offer custom countertop fabrication for:

OUR CUSTOM COUNTERTOP FABRICATION PROCESS

  • Slab Inspection
  • Brazilian Granite Countertop Fabrication

Slab inspection is a crucial part of our quality control process.

During the inspection, we take the time to carefully examine every aspect of your chosen stone to ensure that you get the best material for your new countertops.

Natural stones all come with unique characteristics like color, veining, etc.

However, because they are natural stones, not all characteristics are Ideal for fabrication.

Our inspection process allows us to inspect the stone for divots, cracks, or imperfections that may affect the quality and adjust accordingly, whether that be cutting around the imperfections or choosing a different slab.

  • Template Layout
  • Once the chosen stone has passed the quality test, it’s time for templating.

We design custom templates for each project, which we place over the stone and use to mark clear guidelines for each cut-out.

During this part of the process, we strategically arrange the templates we created over the slab in a way that will best showcase the stone’s unique color, veining, and other special features once cut.

Our professional templater will also use this time to ensure that every section of stone will flow nicely together for the finished product.

  • Stone Cutting
  • During the stone cutting phase of our custom fabrication process, we will use a variety of high-tech tools designed to control maximum cut precision and quality.

    Custom Countertop Fabrication

Each step of our cutting process is carefully monitored and professionally handled to ensure the best possible outcome.

  • Fabrication
  • On to custom countertop fabrication, this is where the magic happens.

Once the main sections of the countertops are removed from the slab, each piece that requires a cut-out will go through the fabrication phase, where masterful cuts are strategically placed into the slab with a CNC machine.

  • Stone Strengthening
  • Stone strengthening is another way we ensure that our customers get custom countertops that last.

When cutting and fabricating stone to accommodate features (like sinks or cooktops) with cut-outs, you often end up with a thin section of stone at the front and sometimes back of the cut-out.

These thinner areas of stone aren’t quite as secure as the rest of the countertop, which is why we use a technique called rod threading to reinforce the areas of the stone where needed.

This specific part of our fabrication process ensures your countertops remain secure in all areas and last for years to come.

  • Polishing
  • The polishing aspect of our fabrication involves smoothing and finishing the edges of your countertops.

Once the stone has been fully polished, you end up with entirely smooth and seamless features which make your countertops look like original works of art.

  • Sealing & Hand Finishing
  • During the last stages of fabrication, we use a unique sealing technique to preserve the high-quality “brand new” feel and appearance of your countertops.

Once your stone countertops have been fabricated and sealed, we go through our final inspection process before installation to ensure quality, craftsmanship, and precision.

Nearly all of our fabrication is completed in our shop, because of this, our installation process is quick, mess-free, and includes minor in-home adjustments at most.

Natural Stone Countertop FAQs

1Can I hand select my countertop material?
Absolutely! When choosing custom countertops for your home, it is essential that you get what you want. All of our customers get the showroom experience and handpick a stone slab for custom fabrication. Because the stones are a natural element, each piece is unique in color and design, so you will want to pick out a slab that best fits your home and style.
2Will someone have to come out for measurements before I receive a quote?
Yes. To get an accurate quote for your custom countertop fabrication and installation, a professional technician will need to evaluate what you want and measure the space. Once we have a clear understanding of what you need and how much stone is required for fabrication, we can then give you a quote.
3Do you remove my old countertops?
Yes. When it is time to install your new countertops, our technicians will carefully remove and dispose of your old counters, making the install process quick and hasslefree.
4Will natural stone countertops add value to my home?
Yes! Stone countertops do add value to your home. When home buyers are looking for a new place, natural stone countertops are always a significant selling point (especially in kitchens and bathrooms). Because natural stone countertops add a sense of luxury to your home and have the potential to last a lifetime (with proper care), they are a great way to add resale value to your home.

7Can natural stone countertops stain?
Yes, natural stone countertops can get stained. Although your stone’s sealant helps shield against moisture, the countertops are still susceptible to stain. The key to keeping your new countertops fresh and stain-free is (clean-up timing). Natural stones have a minute porosity level, as long as messes are thoroughly cleaned up promptly, you should have no issues.
8Can my countertops chip or scratch?
With responsible use, scratches and chips aren’t typical. However, although natural stone countertops are scratch-resistant, they ARE NOT scratch-proof and are susceptible to surface damage when roughly used. To avoid surface scratches and chips, try to be gentle with your countertop surface and edges. Natural stone may be incredibly resilient, but it isn’t indestructible.
9How should I clean my countertops?
The safest way to clean your natural stone countertops is with soap and water. It’s best to avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning tools altogether, as they may damage your stone countertops and tarnish the protective sealant.
10What is countertop etching?
Countertop etching is a form of surface damage that causes your counter’s to develop dull and rough-to-the-touch spots. Etching tends to occur when your countertops are exposed to acidic chemicals like cleaners, fruit juice, alcohol, and other harsh liquids.
